The BOZARSTART has already attracted hundreds of young people of less than 26 years to the various activities produced by BOZAR . Exposures, concerts, plays, previews... are within the range of 5 EURO per activity BOZARSTART is sold as a booklet of five tickets and is not nominative so , it can be divided between friends. The mobile ticketing system starts with a purchase of the booklet on the internet. Than, half an hour before the spectacle and within the limit of the places available, by using the mobile telephone, the concert of the choice can be selected on the MOBILE BOZAR START ticketing booth. Partners are Connecitivity provider Paratel and Mobile operator Proximus. How does it work? The principle is simple: order on the web page the virtual booklet BOZAR START; send START by sms to the 3116: you will receive a bar code on your GSM ; preserve preciously because it will give you access to MOBILE BOZAR START ticketing booth located in the hall of BOZAR. Scan the barcode on the terminal of withdrawal half an hour before the spectacle of your choice (you will then see posting the representations of the evening for wich places are still available) make your choice then select the number of desired tickets (from 1 to 5) and wait a few moments to obtain your or your tickets. When I have a new phone, and of a brand I don't know, I take some time to go through the different menus and options of the phone. Than, to save the battery, I decide to activate the auto-power, where my phone will go to sleep during the night. Well, by doing this I have deactivated the best feature of my phone: calling it! Indeed mobile Monday mornings in Brussels are always rushy to go to work and go something like:where is my tie, where are my keys, where did I leave my phone? And than I remember I installed the auto-power on my phone, and cannot call it. Because, what is the best feature on a mobile phone, is calling it from another phone so it rings and you know where you left it: in the pocket of your week-end jeans, somewhere in the coach,... So after the obvious phrase "where are you?" when people are calling someone on the handy, the next feature is for sure "where are you my dear phone without who Icannot leave the house". Wish one day my spare socks, clean tie and keys(remember the whistle key hangers gadget from before)could do the same! Well, we are close to the Internet of things.|W|P|113822087838333870|W|P|Mobile life 2: Never lost, always in touch|W|P|tanguy.delestre@gmail.com1/16/2006 09:26:00 PM|W|P|Tanguy De Lestré|W|P|Do you know the difference between travel and journey. Well the first one is from point A to B, the second one all in between and sometimes B doesn't even matter. When I was small my brother and I used to wander by foot and by bike, with the only guiding element a coin. On every corner we would flip it: tails-heads. Head we would turn off left, dice we would turn off right. This game would create unpredictable inroads in wellknown streets of my suburbia and would create some surprising inroads too. Small - oh what do I start feeling old:))-we were often travelling through France ; my mom used to write to the tourist service of local municipilaties that she spotted on the map before the journey. She would receive tons of local and interesting reading material that you would never get at the official French tourist office in Brussels, and with this information a journey through Francewas organised. Today not much has changed, now it is called POS or points of interest on your Car GPS system. However a GPS system on the road does not allow for trivial elements like random roads or flipping a coin. A GPS system allows you to go from one point to the other. People - research indicitates- are losing spatial sensation when they are guided through GPS. The only thing that counts is how fast or easy to go from point A to B. Motorcyclists that are still closest to 'cruising' enjoying the road and flipping a coin are not that fond of these systems of course. Now turn right!|W|P|113822083877328629|W|P|mobile life : losing the journey with GPS|W|P|tanguy.delestre@gmail.com1/09/2006 04:08:00 AM|W|P|Tanguy De Lestré|W|P|When Radio Donna launched a musical TOP 2005 at the end of last year, it was also opening an SMS/e-mail box with listeners. As Radio Donna also streams on the Internet messages from Belgians all over the world were pouring in. One message went like this: "hi we are in the Dunes at the Belgian coast, in the middle of the snow (comment: yes there was strangely snow at seaside); and listening to the TOP 2005 over the Internet. We are streaming Radio Donna through a laptop that is wirelessly linked on an internet hotspot" Well, for me that was over my head, over my geek: tuning in with a normal FM portable radio would have given the same result and in stereo! That's the KIS (Keep It Simple ) principle. Enjoy 2006.|W|P|113699213027003557|W|P|Mobile Radio: keep it simple|W|P|tanguy.delestre@gmail.com1/02/2006 12:02:00 AM|W|P|Tanguy De Lestré|W|P|What's happening with a WIMAX project of CIRB (www.cirb.be), the ICT branch of the Brussels governement? Has the trial project with Damovo and the ULB University on WIMAX produced sufficient results to make a Brussels-wide roll-out? Will the IRIS project of WIFI hotspots be extended? Lots of questions, probably the answer in some weeks time.|W|P|113715039619033832|W|P|Rumorwatch: public WIMAX in Brussels?|W|P|tanguy.delestre@gmail.com
