6/05/2006 07:07:00 PM|W|P|Tanguy De Lestré|W|P|The 15th international World-Wide Web conference took place in Edinburgh, (http://www2006.org/) I post a brief note reminding my own presence ten years ago in Paris for the 5th World Wide Web conference at CNIL. 1/ Already than, a crowd of Nokia researchers were present and holding the pulse on the developments. And this year Nokia was also present, with innovations (http://www.mobilemonday.net/mm/story.php?story_id=4809) 2/ What has changed in 10 years; well right now you can 'blog' a picture from your mobile phone right onto a blog website ; 10 year ago a picture was taken with a webcam and it took the proud researchers about half an hour to post it on a web page; times have changed ! 3/ Internet Explorer than was just launched and it was all Netscape and Mozilla that was adding new features; I was at that time quite fond of an Oracle webbrowser; in that respect the browsing experience has not changed that much, except the speed of downloading 4/ Have a look at the following link to find out what has been discussed on mobile this year, like the Nokia Open Source Browser, Mobile Meida Purchases, Future interfaces for mobile devices: http://www.research.att.com/~rjana/Program2006.htm|W|P|114866364346380880|W|P|WWW conference: mobile highlights|W|P|tanguy.delestre@gmail.com
